Youth Climate Commission

The climate crisis is here and the time to act is now. Youth and young adults locally and globally have spoken out on the dramatic change it will have on their and our lifetimes. Born from youth advocacy, Los Angeles County (County) is proud to establish the first ever Los Angeles County Youth Climate Commission (YCC).

Coordinated by the Chief Sustainability Office (CSO), the vision is to have Commissioners make recommendations, provide ideas, and advice to the Board of Supervisors on the County’s climate-related goals, plans, actions, policies and initiatives. County Supervisorial Offices are in the process of finalizing their appointments. Each office was tasked to select 5 commissioners for their own District, for a total of 25 Commissioners countywide. We expect the commission to begin meeting early next year.
